    Hello
    Participant

I’m trying to find out if it’s mostly men who have random intrusive thoughts. I’m really suffering right now. What if you have an offending thought, then when you try to remember that you were just thinking, but your feelings are all over the place? These thought don’t mean anything real right? They are just random stuff floating around your mind, I hope?

        Hi

We want you to know that you can also contact the OCD Action Helpline and Email Service to talk to or email someone who understands OCD.

Our Helpline volunteers provide confidential and unbiased help, information and support for people with OCD (and their family members too). Most volunteers have personal experience of OCD; all understand OCD and how it can impact a family’s life.

        Contact our Helpline by:

        • phone: 0300 636 5478 (this is a UK number).
        • email: support@ocdaction.org.uk

You can also find out about support groups on our website – these are open to people with OCD and some involve family members too. They offer a safe place where you can talk openly about OCD and support and encourage other people too. Our information about UK-based groups can be found here:

If you don’t live in the UK, you can look for groups near you on the International OCD Foundation (IOCDF) website. Look in the section “Find Help” and then under “Listing Types”, choose “Support Groups”: https://iocdf.org/

And please remember that you’re never alone – OCD Action is always here to help and support you.

        Regards,

Hiya… A lot of guys seem to try to emulate TV people, and thus, we cover up until we break…

I do tend to think that Women and girls suffer just as much, but they are more open with each other about their feelings, and connect more. I think it is a global problem, down to the way we see things portrayed on TV etc. Social media is what it sounds like. All Newspapers and TV, including the BBC are social media. They often show a way of life that simply could not exist in reality…

I recently retired. I now feel useless to society. Remember the game shows on TV where they always asked the contestants what their occupation was? How a mere ‘Dustman’ became a waste disposal technician?

And now, The ‘Managers’ outnumber the rest of the workforce!

I’m trying to get my driving license back after a medical issue… It means a lot, cos it is now, after many years of quite high status employment, the only qualification that I have, that means that I am of some use to the world around me. And being a fella, that in itself is quite a big issue…

          Tels
