OCD Action’s Online Support Groups provide a safe and welcoming environment where you can connect with others with similar experiences and offer mutual support without judgement. All support groups are peer led and facilitated by a dedicated team of trained volunteers.
Our support groups are available to anyone based in the UK affected by OCD or a related disorder (no formal diagnosis is needed), and includes support groups for parents and caregivers, partners and loved ones. Participation is easily accessible via Zoom, with the option to have your camera on or off. For those who don’t have internet access, we provide a limited number of places in our phone support groups.
There is no charge to join our support groups, but because there is a high demand for places we ask that you only sign up if you intend to use your place(s). To retain your membership you must attend a session at least once every three months.
In addition to regular support group sessions, each support group has a private Facebook group. If you would like to connect with fellow members outside support group sessions, you are welcome to join these online communities.
As a Support Group member, you will automatically be invited to monthly Navigating Services sessions. Led by our Helpline team, our Navigating Services sessions provide information and support around how to access the recommended treatments for OCD and related conditions through the NHS and/or privately. Attendees are encouraged to share their lived experience of accessing support (for themselves or on the behalf of another) and are provided with the opportunity to address any questions or concerns they might have regarding the recommended treatments and the services providing them. Attendance at our Navigating Services sessions is optional, and you are free to opt out of the mailing list for these sessions at any stage.
You can sign-up to a maximum of three support groups initially. After attending these at least once, you are welcome to sign-up to a further one or two support groups.
Please allow up to 10 days before you receive confirmation that you are fully registered by our sign-up volunteers. Thank you.
