OCD and workplace trouble?

My son has ocd and I’m pretty sure it interferes with his work. His manager knows he has it too but supposdedly hasn’t said anything yet. Can he get in trouble at work if his OCD interferes with his ability to get tasks done? Can he get fired for that? Is this legal?
