My so has OCD and daydreams a lot, I mean really too much I think. What I want to know is are intrusive thoughts during daydreaming common? Sometimes when he daydreams he days his thoughts turn to dark things that he doesn’t like and he says he can’t tell if they’re intrusive thoughts or not. How can I help him?

I found at my worse a few things helped

family – you sound great parent, getting out for a walk every day no matter what (at leas you’re happy to get back it it’s awful) and reading – best distraction (plus councilling  and meds !)

his daydream may be him ruminating – my mum would say I looked like I had the world on my shoulders as this was me too, trying to sort things out in my head which wouldn’t always help if I did it too long
