My son has OCD and recently had an intrusive thought about something that he’s ashamed about. He says its to do with details about something he thought he had let go of but it seems that now he’s adding new details to the thought. He seems to be adding new details each time it comes up. I’ve really been trying to just focus on helping him but I have felt so uncomfortable with this all recently. Anyone can relate to this?

Some support groups for people with OCD also welcome family members. You can talk openly about OCD and support other people. Read information about UK-based groups here:

If you don’t live in the UK, look for groups near you on the International OCD Foundation (IOCDF) website. Under “Find Help”, choose “Listing Types”, then “Support Groups”: https://iocdf.org/

And please remember that you’re never alone – OCD Action is here to support you.
