Hi, I’m a new user. So far I’ve found the site extremely useful 🙂

I would like to post about the recurrence of intrusive thoughts.

Has anyone been doing better and then had a major setback? In my case it was a series of mistakes and regrets which happened at the end of last year and now every day since it has been constant compulsions and resetting.

These are of mistakes which I have learned from and things which I know I cannot go back and change and yet there’s this constant issue of thinking about the same events/ mistakes and having to do the compulsions which obviously starts the cycle again.

Its not a nice position to be in and hope you find yourself doing better in no time. Glad you have found this place helpful. I’m back after 4 years of being away from here but I’m only on once in a while, the forums have gotten very quiet from when I was last here! I’ve had a few setbacks over the years, whether it is finding myself in positions that trigger me or stress certainly plays a role in how well I am doing. Like you said you’ve learnt from the mistakes and won’t make them again and nothing you can do to change it. Things will get better. Not sure the best way to go about it but they will get better. It’s not plain sailing with this and will have set backs just got to keep going and not let anything stop you from moving forward

Thank you for the reply 🙂 I hope you’re doing ok 🙂 and yes indeed stress does seem to be a major factor for me too. Especially life changing events (even if they’re “expected” life the loss of an elderly relative).
