Hi Don’t know if I’ve seen this problem on the forum, well, OCD keeps me awake and that means almost all nights are a late night for me. If I have to get up early what can I do?? In one months time, I’ll be starting a new job. OCD is ready to strike me and my future is full of doubts, who knows if I’ll be okay? OCD has been around for the best part of my life. I feel like an idiot and it is upsetting… I really don’t feel like starting a new job because of OCD. Think there’s any hope for me?

Sorry only seen this. I used to be super active on this forum but haven’t been on for a couple of years now. I’m giving a talk on OCD and put me in mind of this forum. I’m sure rules may have changed so hope I don’t get into trouble with anything with my reply.

I had anxieties over sleep. What if I’m late, what if I sleep in? Then my mind goes mental and I end up thinking it would be better to stay up all night go to my meetings and then go to sleep. (I did this often and it was a bad idea) If your work is supportive of employees with disabilities I would talk to your manager and explain your issues and worries and ask to do an occupational therapy review where a specialist will speak with you and suggest workplace agreements to your management and they should honour those as for most employers it’s a better option for staff retention than people struggling in work and leaving.

Hope the new job is going well
