Hi everyone. I find that Christmas time exacerbates everything about OCD… Sort of  ‘hopes and fears of all the years’ kind of thing. And the pandemic situation has really isolated people. And on top of all that, everyone on tv is happy… or seems to be so. None of us feel happy all of the time, and seeing others doing so can really drag us down. None of us is ever really alone, we all have ourselves for company… And we have the forum. Sometimes it is nice to just not do anything at all… just breathe. Listen to some favourite music, check out your favourite groups on youtube.  There are some really good cbt books available on amazon. But for right how, be good to yourself, treat yourself to something you really enjoy… In my case, a nice cup of coffee, and hopefully,  a biscuit or two!

        Hi

Forum Moderators here: we’d like you to know that OCD Action is here to help you. Please consider contacting the OCD Action Help and Information Line to talk to or email someone who understands OCD and what you’re going through.

Our Helpline volunteers provide confidential and unbiased help, information and support for people with OCD (or who  think they may have OCD). Most volunteers have personal experience of OCD and all understand how it can impact your entire life. Contact our Helpline by:

        – phones: 0300 636 5478 (UK number).

        – email: support@ocdaction.org.uk

You can also find out about support groups on our website. These offer a safe place where you can talk openly about OCD and support other people too. Our information about UK-based groups can be found here:

        Local independent support groupshttps://ocdaction.org.uk/i-need-support/local-support/

        OCD Action Skype/Phone/Zoom support groupshttps://ocdaction.org.uk/i-need-support/ocd-action-skype-phone-zoom-support-groups/

If you don’t live in the UK,  look for groups near you on the International OCD Foundation (IOCDF) website. Look in the section “Find Help” and then under “Listing Types”, choose “Support Groups”: https://iocdf.org/

And please remember that you’re never alone – OCD Action is here to support you.

        Best wishes,

        Forum Moderators
