No. The Bridge is not therapy and does not replace CBT with ERP. It’s a psychoeducation and support programme for people who are waiting for treatment.

Do I need a formal OCD diagnosis to join?
No. You don’t need a diagnosis — you just need to be on a waiting list for OCD treatment.

Does it matter if the waiting list is NHS or private?
No. You can be waiting for NHS or private treatment.

What if I start treatment while taking part in The Bridge?
That’s absolutely fine. You can continue with The Bridge alongside treatment, or step away if you feel you’ve got what you need.

Does it cost anything to take part?
No. The Bridge is completely free.

      Is The Bridge confidential?
Yes. The groups are confidential. Information is only shared if there are concerns about someone’s safety.

If I have additional health conditions, disabilities, learning or support needs, can I still take part, and how will I be supported?
When you apply, you’ll be asked if there’s anything you or your child might need to help you take part in the sessions. We’ll do our best to make reasonable adjustments and will talk this through with you as part of the application process.

      How do I apply?
You can complete the first stage of the application here – just scroll down to the bottom of the page. If you have any questions before applying, you can email us at thebridge@ocdaction.org.uk.
