Why join us as an OCD Action media volunteer?

Our OCD Action team of media volunteers share personal experiences of OCD and related conditions with journalists. Becoming a media volunteer is an excellent way to bring a human touch to news stories, challenge misconceptions, and raise awareness of the reality of living with OCD.

      What Do media volunteers do?

As a media volunteer, we may contact you to appear on TV or take part in interviews for magazine or newspaper articles.

We will always provide you with support every step of the way. We know that sharing things that are quite personal, especially when speaking to the media, can feel daunting.  Your confidentiality is our top concern, and we will never share your details without your permission.

Can I become a media volunteer?

Yes! Anyone affected by OCD or a related condition is welcome as a media volunteer – including family members and loved ones.

By volunteering, you can help us to represent people who:

      • are often underrepresented in the media
      • face disproportionate challenges when seeking support for OCD and related conditions
      • have lived experience of intersectional disadvantage.

We want to improve how we share experiences and represent people in our media work. We’d love to hear from you!
