They do take a while to kick in. I was on 20 mgs of Citalopram. After 6 weeks my panic attacks ceased, but it took longer to smooth out my anxiety and really impact my ocd.

After another year or so I reduced and came off as I had started to experience side effects.

Really the medication is supposed to work alongside therapy. For ocd it’s cbt/erp.
