The British 10K: A Day to Remember

On Sunday 9th July was the British 10K, the morning where the centre of London is shut down for one big running-themed street party! And for OCD Action it was one of the absolute highlights of the year for fundraising! There were eight wonderful fundraisers running for OCD Action, and all of them did amazingly well despite the blazing heat. There was an amazing atmosphere on the day, as our staff and volunteers turned up to cheer the incredible people on.

British 10K 2017: Here comes the run!

The British 10K on 9th July is one of the most iconic running events in the country. The unique event, which combines the thrill of a 10K run with the buzzing atmosphere of a British street party, has been going for 17 years. Union Flags will be flying, live music will be playing and there will be a generally bustling party atmosphere as the brave runners dash past Trafalgar Square, the Embankment, Big Ben and all the best landmarks of Westminster.

The Many Adventures of OCD Action's Fundraisers

WOW! What an incredible couple of months for fundraising!

Our fundraisers are an important part of OCD Action. Without the donations they raise through their fabulous events, OCD Action would not be able to carry out all the work we do. It can also be very beneficial for the fundraisers themselves, who often live with OCD, and find training for a run or preparing an event can be a big help for their physical and mental health.

Here are some of the amazing things people have been up to in May and June:

A Celebration of Kenneth Turlewicz

On Saturday 3rd June, in the prestigious Glasgow Film Theatre, a truly special event will be held to celebrate the life and memory of Kenneth Turlewicz.

Kenneth was an actor, writer and director in the Glasgow cultural scene who was known for his inspiration, optimism, fellowship, goodness and humour. But he was also affected by the debilitating condition of Obsessive Compulsive Disorder, which had a highly damaging effect on his life and contributed to his tragic and untimely death.

Run Like Daisy

Were you wondering what exciting fundraising events were going on this weekend?

Step forward Daisy Sidwell! Tomorrow, on Saturday 20th May, Daisy will be, along with her friend Paris, running in the Colour Obstacle Rush in Windsor.

Ward is the Word

We recently let you know about the fundraising exploits of Molly Sandford-Ward, who ran in the Great Edinburgh 5 Mile run on Sunday 23rd April. Molly was taking part in this fabulous event in order to raise awareness about what she believes to be the two major misconceptions about OCD: what the disorder actually is, and how severe it is for those who live with it.
