The University of Hertfordshire and Orchard OCD have recently completed a study of Transcranial Direct Current Stimulation (tDCS) – a form of non-invasive brain stimulation – as a potential new treatment option for people with OCD.
This was a small study, undertaken to investigate if further research would be valuable, but the findings from the study are hopeful. The results show that tDCS reduced OCD symptoms, and is both acceptable and safe for use in people with OCD. The initial findings are a step forward for the future of OCD management.
