I’m in my 40s and only now I think I’m developing OCD. Is that possible? I thought you had to have it as a child. What should I do? Thanks

Hello, to my knowledge yes ocd can start at any age. I’ve known people develop it as adults. It could be maybe that something has triggered it at this time in your life. Has something happened lately out of the norm? This could maybe set it going. I’m no professional so this is just my guess so I’d take what I say with a pinch of salt. But I believe it can start later on in life.

As I don’t know what type of ocd you are suffering with (harm, pure o, contamination etc) it’s hard for me to give you a plan of what to do but if it’s really bothering you I’d suggest making an appointment with your GP and discussing it with them as a starter.

Stay safe and look after yourself.
