Sometimes the drugs need a bit of help… CBT therapy can be very beneficial, and there are books by a Doctor David Burns, and Dale Carnegie that can help too. I used to use things like St Johns wort, but if you are already on prescribed medicines it is worth checking with doctor. There is also something called ‘Bach’s rescue remedy’ that is available on the shelf in the chemists/drug store. Fresh air tends to be a good thing too. Simply getting out of the house. TV these days so bad now, we are guaranteed to feel low.Contrary to popular belief, watching others suffer does no actually make us feel better about ourselves, not for very long anyway… Light is another one… Modern energy saving light bulbs do not give anything like enough light to really do anything… If anything, dim light forces our eyes to work harder. Our eyes actually use vast amounts of nervous energy anyway… A good approach to life, positive, if you like, can do more than medicines anyway.
On facebook there are positive thought groups. You can subscribe, and get positive thoughts sent direct to your phone. Avoid the negative ones… They just perpetuate the awful feelings, do not join in with the moaners. Push for happiness…
There is a soundtrack called ‘Desiderata’ recorded in the sixties by Les Crane. It is spot on,and still relevant to our modern way of living.
