🧠 Understanding OCD: A Research Study “Understanding the Lived Experiences of OCD: How Individuals Make Sense of Their Condition and What Shapes It”

Are you living with OCD or think you may have OCD?
We want to hear your story.

This study is exploring how people with OCD understand their experiences and what they believe may have shaped their condition — including life events, family dynamics, relationships, or treatment experiences.

By sharing your personal perspective in a one-to-one interview, you can help build a better understanding of OCD and contribute to more personalised and compassionate approaches to support and care.

✅ Open to adults (18+) with diagnosed or self-identified OCD
✅ Interviews are confidential, one-to-one, and take place online or in person
✅ Your voice and experience are central to this research

This qualitative study explores how individuals with Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) perceive and understand their condition. It aims to uncover how life experiences — such as family background, trauma, treatment, or relationships —
may shape the development and lived experience of OCD.

Purpose:

The findings will contribute to a deeper understanding of OCD from the individual’s
perspective and may help inform future research, psychoeducation, and more
personalised therapeutic support.
