Are you an adult aged 20–65 living in the UK who experiences Parcopresis (shy bowel syndrome) or Bowel Control Anxiety?
Jenny Beckman is conducting a confidential, qualitative research study to explore the lived experiences of adults navigating these often misunderstood and isolating conditions. This research aims to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and help people feel empowered to seek support.
You’re invited to take part if:
You are aged 20–65
You currently experience Parcopresis or Bowel Control Anxiety
You are a UK resident
You currently experience Parcopresis or Bowel Control Anxiety
You are a UK resident
Unfortunately, you cannot take part if:
You have a clinical diagnosis of a functional gastrointestinal condition (such as IBS, Crohn’s disease, or Ulcerative Colitis)
You live outside the UK
You live outside the UK
Taking part involves completion of a seven-day digital diary which will be sent to you in addition to a one-to-one interview conducted on Microsoft Teams where you’ll have the chance to share your story in a safe, respectful, and non-judgemental space.
Your voice can help bring visibility to a topic that affects many but is rarely talked about.
