I do sometimes find that if I hold off on reacting to my thoughts even just for 2 minutes after those 2 minutes I realise the thought Was stupid and that I don’t believe it. So I’d say try to your best to control ur anxiety and stress levels through self care and mindfulness and this might help you sit and observe the thoughts better? Rather than reacting straight away and going into overdrive. You have said you don’t like this and don’t want to do this – something I do instead of reassuring myself In this way is to simply say ‘I know’ and then I resist fighting the thought I let the thought happen and try to have faith in myself that deep down I know the truth – I don’t need to fight ocd for the truth as that never gets us anywhere.
