      My therapist told be to allow the thought In if you try to fight them you are validating them and reinforcing this idea that something is wrong. If you let the thoughts flow into your head let an anxiety happen and eventually within a minute or so the feeling will suppress and the thoughts will pass.  Realistically it was take as long as you need to let the anxiety pass which for me could be hours if I let it but you have to stick with it. This will tell your brain that you have nothing to worry about and that you are actually in control of your thoughts.

      another thing he told me which is a bit hard to do but was to in a time where you aren’t or even are having intrusive thoughts is to think them on purpose just to show yourself that you are I control of your own mind the thought you have do not determine you as a person they are just thoughts and are not doing anything wrong.
