Help shape the future of OCD Action

Hundreds of thousands of people across the UK are affected by Obsessive Compulsive Disorder. On average, people wait 7 years before they feel able to reach out for help – and when they do, they often face misunderstanding, misdiagnosis, and long delays in accessing the right treatment.

At OCD Action, we believe this must change.

For over 30 years, we’ve been at the heart of the OCD community – providing life-changing support, connecting people, and campaigning to improve systems and understanding. We’re now looking for new Trustees to help shape what comes next.

Why join us

We’re at the start of a new chapter. This summer we launch a five-year strategy, and as a Trustee you’ll help guide it, strengthening our impact and ensuring we continue to support people at every stage of their journey.

You’ll be joining an organisation that:

  • Reaches hundreds of thousands of people each year through information, webinars, and events – helping them understand their condition and feel less alone
  • Supports thousands through helplines, peer support groups, and education programmes, connecting people to treatment as early as possible
  • Puts lived experience at the heart of everything we do

What’s involved

  • Around five board meetings per year – online, in the evenings
  • Opportunities to get more involved in areas that match your interests
  • A collaborative board with a strong culture of support and shared purpose

Who we’re looking for

We’re looking for people who care deeply about improving the lives of those affected by OCD. You might bring experience in finance, digital or AI, data, or clinical expertise, particularly in adult OCD support.

Just as important are the confidence to ask good questions, the ability to work effectively with others, and a genuine commitment to our mission. No previous trustee experience is needed – we’ll support you every step of the way.

Bring your experience. Bring your voice. Help us build a future where no one waits years for the help they deserve.

How to Apply

Please email your CV and a short covering letter telling us why this role interests you, what experience you’d bring, and what you hope to contribute as a Trustee to chair@ocdaction.org.uk by 11:59pm on Sunday 28th June.

As applications are received, shortlisted candidates will be contacted by the Chair and/or CEO for an informal conversation about their application and OCD Action. This is an opportunity to learn more about the role, ask questions, and explore whether the position is the right fit for both parties.

Formal interviews with a panel of Trustees will take place in mid to late July.
