The Parenting with Anxiety project at the University of Sussex, is a national research study to trial an online course for parents who experience anxiety. This is an online version of the face-to-face intervention that we have been successfully running in the NHS. The online course has 8 modules each of which take about 20 minutes and parents can do them at their own pace in their own time.
We are looking for 2,000 parents (of children aged 2-11) who experience high levels of anxiety to take part – NB they do not need to have a diagnosis or to have sought treatment.
As this is a Randomised Control Trial half of the parents involved will be invited to test the course: the other half will only be asked to complete the questionnaire component of the study. We appreciate this can be disappointing, but it the best way to ensure the quality of our research and the information these parents provide is essential to the success of our work to develop support which helps parents and prevents anxiety in children.
