We use Polarr to edit images. It’s free, works on Mac or PC, and it has all the functions to make editing images easy.
The images are taken from Unsplash (royalty free images). We use three sizes on the site here are the dimensions and the aspect ratios:
- Featured Image (used at the top of the page) 1000px x 562px aspect 16:9
- Panel down the right (e.g. Contact / Donate) 410px x 195px aspect 16:9 (you’ll need to shorten manually)
- Square images in two sizes 300px x 300px & 372px x 372px aspect 1:1

News items are posts not pages. So they have a feedback form for logged in users. Here’s how to create new items:

These are standard pages but remember to add a TAG and use Resources as the parent so it appears in the correct menu.

You can add panels to the top right of every page. Use them as Calls To Action – contact you, donate, read more etc. These are labelled Contact Us panels (but they can be anything you want).
There are also other panels you can add at the bottom of the right hand column. These are called Multipurpose panels. If you don’t add content to either of these in the editor they simply don’t appear. This video shows you how to create them. Editing them is the same process. Remove all content if you want to remove the panel and don’t forget to update.
The way to do this is to paste a bit of div code before the embed code and a bit after.

If you look at this page – Volunteer – it has two types of images in the main content. The large image at the top of the page is called the Featured Image. This video shows you how to add images within text.

Admin have the ability to send out announcements to various audiences via the messages section within the forum. Announcements cannot be replied to, whereas Messages can.
Before sending an Announcement (not messages) you need to go in to plugin and temporarily disable a plugin called New Member Approve. Once you have successfully sent your message remember to re-activate the plugin. IF you are not sure, please contact Treeline.
