April 2020 onwards - Central London OCD Support Group - Alternative Arrangements during Coronavirus Situation

Owing to recent updated government advice to avoid non-essential contact, our face-to-face meetings at The Abbey Centre are cancelled until further notice.

However, we are determined to maintain support for people with OCD in and around London. We will continue to run meetings on a new remote meeting system, starting Thursday 19 March 2020 at 6.45pm for 7pm, finishing at 9.15pm as usual. While this situation continues we will be running these meetings every Thursday at the same time.

You can take part in these meetings online or dial in by phone. There is no need to download software. Apps are available for iOS, Android, Windows and Mac and may work better than the web browser version. Phone calls will cost the same as to a London number.

The meetings will run to a similar format as our face-to-face meetings, and our aims, rules and disclaimer will continue to apply. You will not need to use video if you don’t want to, and can just listen if you prefer not to talk in the meeting.

To ensure privacy we are asking everyone who wants to take part in the meeting each week to contact us. We will then send out an invitation for that week’s meeting.

If you would like to take part in our Central London OCD online / phone Support Group this Thursday 6.45pm for 7pm-9.15pm please......:

email stephen.hosking@btinternet.com , or
call / SMS / iMessage / WhatsApp 07976 726803

Please give your name, and tell us if you are new to the group.
with
Please tell us:
- that you’re interested in the [insert name] group (the organiser runs more than one group)
- your first name
- if you are new to the group
And please confirm that you’re eligible to take part

You will then receive an invitation, with full details of how to access the meeting, at around 6.30pm on Thursday. You won’t receive an immediate confirmation of your request. You will need to do this every meeting you wish to join, to ensure privacy. Please send a separate message if you want to ask anything else, which we will try to reply to as soon as possible.

We assure you that “normal service will be resumed” (face-to-face meetings) as soon as this situation is resolved!

We will try to keep supporting each other as best we can - do join us!

As well as here, any updated details about the group will be available on Twitter @LondonOCD
