    Just because you walked through a fire exit it doesn't make you a fire hazard. People walk through these doors, even when they shouldn't, everyday and nothing happens.

    Stop battling all it does is antagonise the OCD. Battling gives the thoughts importance, increases anxiety and saps your confidence by making you feel a failure. Learn to accept that you have OCD and then work with it to gradually reduce the obsessions and compulsions.

    I'm not a professional but I personally think that it depends on how much importance you give the thoughts as to how long the individual theme lasts.

    Yes, excellent idea to have mental health first aiders in the work place. I passed this onto Olivia our media and communications officer as per the request she made in her post at the top of the OCD forum list.
