Alcohol and OCD

Nicole Wynford-Thomas (MSc Clinical and Health Psychology student, The University of Manchester) is inviting you to participate in a research study about the effects of alcohol use in individuals with symptoms of Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) and the reasons why individuals with OCD symptoms drink alcohol.

If you experience symptoms of OCD and drink alcohol at least once a month you might be eligible to take part in this research study.

What is this study about?

Nicole is conducting a study investigating alcohol use in individuals with symptoms of OCD. You do not need a formal diagnosis of OCD to take part.

What will participation involve?

Participation will involve completing an online survey that will take no longer than 30 minutes to complete. The survey will consist of questions about OCD symptoms, alcohol consumption and reasons for alcohol use. Some participants will be invited to take part in follow up interviews via email. You do not need to agree to be contacted about the interviews to be able to take part in the survey.

Who can participate?

If you are at least 18 years old, currently or have previously experienced symptoms of OCD and you drink alcohol at least once a month you can participate. You must also be able to read and understand English.
