Towels… The last thing we handle after washing our hands etc. And “before” we handle the next thing we touch. We always have, haven’t we? We’ve all heard the classic question, ‘What gets wetter as it dries? The towel’  Damp towel, warm radiator or towel rail, to get dry in air. Some scientists would suggest that moisture, heat, airborne germs… Oh no! a cocktail towards tummy upset… And yet… We have survived our childhoods! We have “always ” done this… As children it would have helped strengthen our bodily defences. And as adults, we are okay. Well we are, Aren’t we? ?? …

Keys… Door keys, car keys, even piano type keys and computer touch screens. Until the Covid  situation, nobody without OCD would have washed and wiped our keyboards, pads and screens… Nobody… And yet people consider sueing other people for tummy troubles! Maybe it’s  the pursuit of money…

So, maybe that door handle will be okay… So that we can leave the room without a) making ourselves ill, or indeed, possibly causing a risk of harm to anyone else, perhaps a child… We follow common sense with Covid,  but only just so far. The term ‘All things in moderation’,  applies perfectly here.  When my contamination ocd was at its worst,  I would actually wash keys in soap gel under the water tap…  But modern car keys cannot do this! None of them… Think about the possibilities that that could bring to mind… We need to take our trip and fall solicitors off speed-dial… It could be suggested that,  after all the Covid precautions have been going on for so long, we may need to allow our natural defences to build up again… Gradually… As babies and children, teenagers, and us adults  do, every day of our lives, right from conception.

More later… God bless you for reading.
