Hi everyone…If you’re like me, with ocd shopping is a challenge, things like contamination in store, obsession with things in order, convinced by intrusive thoughts must get all perfect or something really bad will happen. Some tips word for me:
- make shopping list even for a few things
- go to same store, not another, even if cheaper
- Set timer to avoid checking over and over to see if anything broken
- try not to panic if clerk dumps everything in bags, try to think I dont’ care, can manage without everything in exact right place in right bag!
- If family has no idea how traumatic shopping can get, explain and ask to support you
- try for gradational prgoress, not immediate
- No booze to help you relax!
- It’s hard but try to relax, watch heart rate, try stay positive#
