As a 22 year old female trying to pursue a degree in education, I feel that I might have OCD and that keeps stopping me. My brain keeps telling me that you are just getting into that field because you are a P. As a result I am scared to tell the therapist these thoughts in fear of being put on some list or something and be considered a danger to the kids.

That’s understandable. Not all therapists understand ocd. I’ve heard of people having been caused problems because of ignorant doctors, therapists and social services.

That being the case I would only be willing to speak to a psychiatrist if I were you. Tell your doctor that you believe you suffer from ocd, but don’t go into too many details. Tell the doctor that you want to see a psychiatrist for an evaluation. Once you have the evaluation you can ask for RELEVANT therapy for ocd.

The fact its bothering you ,to me is indicative that you are no more a threat to anyonen than myself ,I I know its frightening these thoughts ,but don’t let ocd take away clearly what you want to do .
