Scared I did something mean to my dog… false memory

Hello everyone. I suffer from OCD since a few years but I have this huge fear of having done something mean to my dog. I know the best way to deal with this would be to accept the uncertainty that I can’t know whether my memory is true or not.

However, this memory really kills me inside… I am scared I did this thing. If I did, it was not intended to be bad or anything. But I cannot say for sure that I didn’t do it!! Does that mean it’s a real memory? Can I figure it out?

If you find the thought distasteful, then I would assume that you did nothing intentionally. So, you have no need to worry.
