Where is the line between actual pedophilia and normality??

So I’ve been hearing this “it’s normal to fantasize about it, but you don’t have to want it” thing, which just blows all my logic out of the window, because how can you fx fantasize about sexual things with kids, and not be called a pedophile? I know it’s a disorder and such so it’s not like you suddenly decide you are a pedophile.

But I would never in a million years find kids attractive. I don’t get how you can jerk off to the thought of kids daily and not be called a pedophile because some people can fantasize about it without being pedophiles.(???)

I’m so confused and scared, I’d like some advice and thoughts on this.

I always wondered this as well. If anyone could respond that would benefit me too

i’m not entirely sure myself, but i know a lot of people have fantasies they don’t actually want in real life. they might be attracted to the taboo, not the kids themselves.

This is something that scares me. Also I was told that sexuality is fluid so if you decide something is acceptable or fantasize about it then it becomes part of your sexuality. Being told this made me think that you're not born a certain way but can become it. I hate that thought.

What happens with ocd is that a person comes to a thought they are not sure where it came from to begin with—is it a desire or just a bad imagination? No matter what the cause, the best someone could do is just never act on thoughts and in the process they will actually get their answer. But beyond that, the guilt of having had thoughts or actions someone feels they made, is hardest to deal with so that’s why someone should not ever test. The only test they should do is the test of not doing.
