Do you recommend medication?

My intrusive false memory thoughts have become unmanageable and I feel I need help. I’ve been seeing a therapist but I’m not sure if it’s going to help at this point.

To those of you that have been on medication, has it helped? I’ve heard some stories of medication making thoughts worse. I just feel as though I’m at my wits end, I don’t want my life to be ruined by this awful disorder. Please let me know your experiences, thank you.

Give Luvox a try.  It has helped with my intrusive thoughts.  I still get them, but I'm able to brush them off a lot easier and not obsess over them as much.  Try to stick out the side effects for a week or so if you have any.  Anxiety got a little worse in the beginning, but it went away.

Yes! I’m on sertraline, while my thoughts haven’t decreased they don’t bother me as much as 12 weeks ago! They are a crutch designed to help you through the therapy process. But remember medication side effects at first are not fun and you must persevere!
