It has taken me over a year to complete a form and it ended up getting rejected!

I am doing my PhD and I had to take a few months off last year as I went through quite a bad episode and relapse. The university told me to visit their disability services and after a meeting with them they recommended to me to fill out a form that would get me funding to have a tutor that would help me through some of the stuff I struggle with having OCD. So the form was a little complicated and required evidence of nearly everything, like 3-4 forms of id, letter from doctor confirming diagnosis, letter from disability supervisor the list went on and on, but I struggle with a lot of that stuff and add a s**t tonne of anxiety too.

On the bright side, I completed the form around 3 weeks ago, yeeey Then they rang and said I need a different letter from my doctor them stating my diagnosis needed to be different and more detailed (Why would a doctor confirming a diagnisis need to be more detailed than weeman has OCD he was diagnosed on ..... and visits..... clinic or something). Hehe ill need a tutor just to get this chuffing form done!

I hate OCD and my anxiety. But I do like cake so im away to eat some cake

Im just venting! Hope everyone is doing awesome

Hi,

Sounds really frustrating !! I hate the way we are suppose to jump through hoops sometimes. I understand why and they cant just give stuff out to everyone who asks but honestly everytime I have ever asked for help it causes more stress. Considering my issue is that I cant touch things, they ask you to fill in a load of forms and send you stuff in the post !! My favourite is when they ask you to complete in 14 days ! Do the mental health services have any idea how many times I need to wash etc just to touch the bloody letter !!

That's two of us ranting !! However on a serious note I hope you eventually get the support you need.

Hehe ranting helps sometimes

Its good that they in place to stop fraud and stop people not needing help getting support, I honestly wouldnt mind too much if they said they couldnt as I know how stretched things are but just annoyed me a little when they asked for a signed doctors note to prove diagnosis but then ring and say they want them to do the disability assessment ontop of the one completed by my disability assessor. After being so happy getting it completed then probably going to be another month or 2 of appointments and re sending paper work and stuff. Thank you, I hope it works out

I can imagine how annoying it would be for you too especially with contamination problems. New forms and posting things probably the last thing you want! But hopefully things take a turn for the better
