Yes I saw your reply ok Dav.

Great attitude there matey. That'll be a good ally.

Oh I dunno Dav, I think you can feel a sense of progress and accomplishment when you successfully complete the exposure exercises, and you can build on that. Like my talky-lady says, "any progress is good progress". It's not about all or nothing with CBT, it's a war of attrition, it's death to OCD by 1000 cuts. We got suckered into this way of thinking and we can sucker ourselves out of it equally. Well that's the theory anyway - right back to my urgent compulsions ...

Mine are intrusive thoughts - some of it is a long story but is to do with a conflict situation I was in at work. It became a big deal, pushed my OCD through the roof and went on a long time. Unfortunately even long after the situation ended, the OCD attached to it persists. Which is just bizarre and I find it hard to explain. I think it highlights the potency and Pavlovian nature of OCD. But anyway it evolved to take on a lot of associations with words/objects/situations that trigger bad ideas, hence books and music became problematic for me. It's proving pretty tough to shake to be honest with you. And along with that the usual sexual, POCD, checking stuff to some degree. My short term memory seems to misfire sometimes and I have to go through random things again in my mind to get a sense of certainty about what's what. There's no real obsession driving it, but something's not working like it should.

So that's about it for me, unless I've missed something, which is entirely possible cos my head is in a terrible haze today.
