Hi all. The therapist I am seeing has suggested we practice detached mindfulness. Does anyone else have any experience with this? Did you find it helpful?

In my experience detached mindfulness or metacognitive therapy is quite useless. Only ERP or CBT have evidence for OCD.

In my exp secular meditation - or rather concentration exercises really help. Focusing on one thing for periods of time induces anti anxiety  feelings of relaxation and mental control. For example closing your eyes and just staring at the black space in front of you without thinking just counting or breath by breath is very useful to regain control of mental processes.
