Hi

There was an interesting programme on BBC2 last night called 'The Men Who Made Us Spend' which dealt with the use of psychology in marketing to make us buy things to quell the fear which marketing campaigns create. An interesting example was how the fear of germs has been used for about 15 years to buy 'special antibacterial' products. In a demonstration conducted at a medical centre it was revealed that there was no difference in outcome from ordinary soap and water and the antibacterials. Did anyone else see the programme. It is to be repeated on Monday.

Hi there ,ive not seen it but they r making a lot ov money out ov these products and thats all it is! They r just trying to make us buy these soaps ect telling us how these will 'kill all the germs' then peeps go out and buy them like fools !we dont need them and they r no different to ordinary soaps ect.the only place that needs 'anti-bac 'products is our toilets and hospitals .there is no cure for flu or the common cold and these products wont stop them lol !it would b interesting to hear every1 elses view on this.
