Hi guys I am new here and not sure how it works but I need a little advice. I have been diagnosed with OCD for over 15 years. I have recently started dating someone new and she Is lovely but I want to tell her about my OCD but I have no idea how to bring It up. I check and recheck things a lot and have a few routines I have no issues with telling her but I also have quite bad semen contamination problems that Is hard to talk about. It leads to erection problems and I feel very very uncomfortable touching people or have people touch me in certain situations. I could explain better but would have to talk quite graphically which I don't fancy doing. Has anyone been In the same situation or heard of the same thing before? I did Google things like being In relationships with people with OCD and most places make people with OCD out to be a handful but I don't think I am

I bring it up asap. But don't you think it would make more sense to concentrate on yourself and recover from ocd than start new relationships?

Hey thanks for your reply. Yeah i plan to bring it up soon but dont know where to begin I get your point but I have had it for most of my life, I have accepted it is part of who I am, but only a tiny tiny part, and won't let It get In the way of me living my life. If she understands It then maybe It be all good

If she told me something like that I would be fine with it and see If anything I could do to help. I am sure she will be, she Is a doctor so I'm sure she knows about It but just hard to bring It up.

Hey weeman

I agree in that if you think it's getting serious that you should bring it up, I am sure they will have the utmost respect for you for having the courage to say it as well
