Hi everyone. .. Today I made a mistake. .. Mmmm mmmm. .. Nothing to a Non-Ocd'ers way of life, but to an Ocd'er quite a big issue. It involves going shopping after going to our local recycling centre.  I'll say nothing more at this point, cos to do so would be seeking reassurance. Let's give it till Monday.

A good piece of advice came through TV.  Wash hands thoroughly once every two hours. after using the toilet, and in theory before preparing food. With soap. That is already more than Non-Ocd'ers do normally.  Don't panic.... I didn't wash enough today,  or maybe I did, wait till Monday to find out. Us Ocd'ers need to carry on as best we can, keep sharing, keep caring let's not incessantly wash hands every minute of the day. Antibacterial stuff is for hands, not hair, as believe it or not I did... Generally speaking we can keep reasonably clean, and get through this corona virus pandemic. Most of us will survive this, and when we do, there will be rejoicing in the streets. God bless us Ocd'ers as we stand together through our present day situation.

Hi everyone. .. Yes,  the shopping. First of all, I helped my lads with taking stuff to the local recycling centre. Threw a few black bags and put a scrap chair in the metals skip. Got back in the car and drove to a supermarket . I needed milk, bread rolls and coffee. I got it all in the basket and went to the till. I found out that I'd got too much due to rationing. So the assistant took back the excess produce, and I paid for what I was allowed to keep. I got back in the car and drove home.  The issue is that someone else would get the left bread and milk. But I hadn't washed my hands prior to shopping. What was on my hands? I really don't know,  but the shop has kept trading, no one has got ill. I've also eaten some gala pie... that was okay too... Today the country has gone a bit more into lock down. Having a shower is still a challenge,  but got down to about fifteen minutes,  a quick in and out... So much better than a year ago... But it's not easy . The corona virus situation is becoming a difficulty with washing hands not too much but enough. Today we are advised to stay at home... Except for essentials. Food, and medicines. I'm main carer for my other half. Helping with medicines and mobility.  They are one of the many in vulnerable people who are at risk. It's a good thing that we get on! So tomorrow it's daytime television! We need to continue washing hands every couple of hours at least, and after going loo... We need to be vigilant, and try not to feel guilty, Everyone in the whole world is affected with this virus . Everyone. .. We can get through this, and we can get through this via the forums... Keep posting everyone. .. God bless you for reading.

Hi everyone. The dreaded trip to the pharmacy today... It is at our doctors surgery, so everything was handed out through a ground floor window. We are all taking precautions,  staying reasonably clean. We are getting through toilet rolls, but got a packet at the supermarket today. They are good for use as paper hankies! I paid for them using contactless credit card, then drove home. I finally found eggs! People have been panic buying where we are, but it is still possible to get by. Antibacterial gel is being used before I do a lot of things in the car, but use soap and water before preparing food. I'm using what I was taught by my CBT therapist. I'm hoping that in a few months we will look back on this corona virus as something we went through together. It is almost exciting.  Stay strong everyone,  God bless you for reading,

Hi everyone, I've just gone into self isolation as of Friday last. Another five days of not being able to go to the shop and buy baking potatoes. I've got the cheese! I have a slight throaty cough so I'm on the buttercup syrup! TV is depressing. .. Very depressing... We will get through this, It's just a matter of time now. Washing hands after going loo,  and before preparing food. But not incessantly, we need to keep our good germs.  It is getting quite scary though. Church was over the internet today. .. A bit weird but okay. We will get through this... How are you all getting on? I'm drinking coffee and fizzy pop all the time, but sipping it. It soothes my tickly throat. I may be fine by next Friday night, unless the criteria change of course. I don't watch the news except in the evenings, it is less scary just once or twice a day. And I avoid the newspapers, they're just prophets of doom and gloom. In the UK the BBC seems to be the best,  and anyway, we pay for it with the TV licence. We will get through this... In the UK we haven't reached the worst of it yet. But we are doing our best. I don't actually know how long this will go on... I don't think anyone does for sure... CBT techniques still prevail. We must stick with what we have been taught, with ordinary soap and water and life in general.

We will get through this... God bless you for reading.

Hi everyone... Tomorrow I will have completed a 7 day lockdown. I intend to go shopping. A nearby supermarket. With trolleys... And checkouts... I will try and abide with the cleanliness... Anti bac where provided. Wipe trolley handle with supplied wipes. And open and close freezers. Handle food, and pay by card, possibly touching the button that used to be green! Mmmmm. It's gonna be interesting... But we have to eat to survive. And I'm desperate to get out of the house and sit in the car. So tomorrow's the first day. Mmmmm. I'll report back tomorrow evening Friday.
God bless you for reading.

Well. .. Friday was a complete non starter. So here we are on Monday. Still sniffing,  still occasionally coughing, but no temperature though. I don't feel too bad today. Quite cheerful in fact. I'm feeling like getting back to my hobby of electronic organ playing. Is it clean? Well yes, it looks okay... I can't exactly spray it down. It has never been cleaned, and it is about twelve years old. I could use a baby wipes,  but just sparingly. Mmmmm One to think about. We went to a supermarket this morning.  A sobering experience, but we're all in this together. I sure hope this all turns out okay. We will get through this if we just keep going. I'm  gonna have a go at preparing an evening meal now. God bless you for reading

Hi everyone. Yesterday was a visit to a bank machine... I went with my other half, carried ordinary baby wipes. I wiped the keypad , and the bit where my forehead touched the machine. I didn't think about this much until now.... Mmmmm. My hands were clean before touching anything. If there was anything on my card it won't be there for long. Tonight it will in the uk be applause for the NHS at 8pm. I even got the keyboard organ to do a round of applause! It is good to be in this together. It's sure scary though isn't it? God bless you for reading.

Hi everyone.

Today it was cheese and ham sandwiches. To be honest, I didn't wash the sealed in plastic cheese wrapper before I started. After all, it had only been handled by me, the supermarket cashier, and whoever put the packet on the shelf, possibly handled by someone at the cheeses factory.... Mmmmm... It never used to be dangerous. Supermarket toilets, where people don't necessarily wash their hands, and the door handles and trolley handles were suspect. The thing is, some cheese comes in paper packaging... You can't wash that...What about the cheese itself, sliced whilst still in the pack, eaten with fingers, Mmmm delicious. But is it dangerous? The thing is that we have coronavirus to worry about now. But hopefully it will be alright. This happened some time ago, so it is too late to do anything about it. We're doing the stay home bit, only shopping once or so a week. We'll need to get some more milk on Tuesday, we're just about okay til then... Then it will a trip to our local supermarket, breakfast cereal, possibly chocolate eggs if they have any. They're not strictlyessential, but chocolate helps lift mood. Church has been via TV today... And a bit via the internet... Okay, I'm off to make a hot drink. God bless you for reading.
