Just looking quick bit of advice.
I am pet sitting for a friend. I do this quite often for other friends all their pets love me and I am good with them.
My issue comes with leaving the house. Did I leave anything out they could hurt themselves on? Did i lock all the doors right? Did i leave anything on that could catch fire? Did i remember to leave them more water?
All these things would mean it could easily take an hour or 2 of constant checking and waiting by the phone until owners home again.
So I found with my past friends I recorded myself locking the door so if i panic i can see that i locked the door. But i dont know if this is counter productive. Should i lock it and trust myself i have regardless of the thoughts i get. Battle the thoughts or reassure myself with a video?
It's been an issue as long as I can remember. I can easily leave my house with doors and windows open it's not a bother but anyone elses big no no and if I am in office and last to leave it is same again.
Meeeeh
Grand scheme of things I get it easy, and liverpool just won the league yaaaaaaaaaayyy

Hi Weeman, I am exactly the same, even with my own house but I am perfectly fine if someone is with me. Even before bed I have to check that all plugs are out etc but i resist the temptation to recheck.

I know we are not supposed to seek reassurance but I think in this case it would be ok.  I would make a list of what needs to be done and tick it off as you go.  Avoid any temptation to go back to check again though because you have evidence that it has been done.  Maybe you could cross one thing off your list at a time in order to get over this.  Good luck.

Omg the more I check the more I doubt so I now have a 1 check rule .. like fruitcake! And re filming or photos I know that may work for the short term but it will make ocd worse long term .. I began to question my photos! Thinking I had taken them and then unlocked or whatever it was I was checking.. ocd is so clever! 1 check rule now .. but I only check if I need to which is the hardest part x
