As we told you last week there were two incredible runs last weekend to raise money and awareness for people with OCD. Philippa and Charlie Marriott set out to run the Kingston Half Marathon, and Jodie Greenfield ran the Coventry one.
So we have some great news: they both succeeded!
Philippa and Charlie lived up to the name “Marriotts of Fire” by finishing in 1 hour 52 minutes and 2 hours 3 minutes respectively. Not only that, but OCD Action even got a mention on the loudspeakers as Charlie reached the finish line! They’re pictured below having just finished the run. They’re wearing crowns to celebrate their well-earned victory. And, having raised £130 for us, they certainly deserve to be treated like royalty! There’s still time to donate to their JustGiving page and help them raise even more.
Jodie also managed to complete her Coventry Half Marathon and she's pictured below having finished her run and having been medalled accordingly! Jodie has OCD herself and wanted to do the run to help break the stigma about the disorder. And she managed it, raising £70 for OCD Action in the process! You can still donate to her JustGiving page, so help her get even more!
A huge congratulations to Philippa, Charlie and Jodie, and a massive thank you to everyone who donated to them.
Finally, don’t forget about Jack Robinson, who is planning to release a special VIP remix of his excellent song Taking Care of Business Dub if he raises £300 for OCD Action on his JustGiving page. And watch this space, as next week we’ll keep you posted on even more Half Marathon fundraising events from Dean Breed and John Rowlands.
As always, make sure to contact Phil at firstname.lastname@example.org or on 020 7253 5272 if you have any plans or ideas for fundraising of your own. We’re open to any suggestions!
