OCD Recovery Data
Earlier this week, new data was released that shows how local Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) services were doing in helping people with OCD. IAPT services provide data on their performance at regular intervals but this is the first time they have shown their results just for OCD.
IAPT services were asked to look at the people with OCD that they help and record what percentage of them show recovery after treatment. Services in Bradford came in with the worst recovery rates of only 6%. With Mansfield, Scarborough and Medway all under 20%, well below the national average of 49%.
At the moment data for individual IAPT services is not being published but only services by region or nationwide. We don’t think that this is good enough and have been campaigning hard to get more accurate information so that we can share with you which specific IAPT services are doing well and which are falling behind.
