We may have just finished our Week of Action, but that doesn’t mean that there’s going to be an end to exciting fundraising events in the near future. Quite the opposite in fact, as we have two separate half-marathons this weekend alone!
Remember Philippa and Charlie Marriott, who we told you about a few weeks ago? Well, they’re running their Kingston Half Marathon this Sunday. If you haven’t already, check out their fundraising page and donate – they’ve nearly raised their £100 target and we’re sure they can make even more with your help! Even the smallest contributions are welcome: as Philippa says,“OCD Action is a small charity that really makes a difference so any pennies count!”
But they’re not the only ones! On the same day, in a different part of the country, Jodie Greenfield will be running the Coventry Half Marathon. Jodie has been living with OCD herself, and she wants to draw attention to the high suicide rates of people with OCD and raise money to help them. In her own words, “when you're dealing with OCD intrusive thoughts it's easy to get lost in them and forget who you really are, suicide is common with OCD sufferers and it's important everyone gets the help they deserve.” So far she has raised half of her £100 target so please do visit her JustGiving page and give her your support.
So we wish the best of luck to Philippa and Charlie in Kingston and Jodie in Coventry. We know that you guys will be able to do it, and thank you all so much for raising this money and awareness for the disorder.
More news of fundraising events to come in the near future, so watch this space! For now, if you have any plans or ideas yourself, just get in touch with Phil at or on 020 7253 5272, and we’ll let people know about your event too!
