Our OCD Youth team have planned a fun activity day on the 7th of July at Go Ape, Black Park!
If you're 25 or under and have OCD, BDD or a related disorder (or are worried that you may have OCD), then we’d love you to come along and join us for a fun-filled day of high rope climbing activities. However, we understand that adrenaline junkie escapades aren’t for everyone, so we’ve also made sure to arrange for some lower-to-the-ground (but equally fun!) arts and crafts exercises and team building games are thrown in for anyone who isn’t a fan of heights. You must be at least 10 years old and 4′7 to go on the main high ropes – if younger than this, we can arrange for you to take part in the Tree Top Juniors course but you must be over 3′3 in height. Anyone can take part in the other activities!
Some members of the Youth Advisory Panel will be attending the event as well as some OCD Action staff so there will be plenty of help on hand if needed for support or encouragement as well as the Go Ape rangers to ensure that everyone has a great (and safe) time!
The event will begin at 12:30 pm on the dot and we advise that you aim to arrive between 12 – 12:15 pm to ensure that you are there on time and not having to rush. The activities will be finishing at around 3:45 pm but we are staying at the park for a picnic afterwards until around 5 pm and you are more than welcome to join us for this!
We are unfortunately unable to provide any food on the day, however, there is a cafe where you can purchase food and you can also bring along your own packed lunches etc. As we will be eating later in the day, please make sure that you’re not arriving to the event on an empty stomach as you’ll need lots of energy to swing on ropes and climb through trees.
OCD Action will be paying for the tickets for this event but to secure your place on the trip, a refundable deposit of £10 is required but this will be reimbursed on attendance.
Any young people under the age of 18 need to be accompanied by a parent or guardian, however, if you are over 16 and would like to attend without one, your parent/guardian will be required to fill out a consent form.
To register for a place on the trip, you can download the form below.
Or email firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like a copy emailing to you!
Black Park is easily accessible via London Paddington (into Langley Station) or Uxbridge tube station. When registering, please let us know if you have any travel difficulties and we will see how we can help.
Places are limited, so make sure you register as soon as possible! We look forward to seeing you soon!
