It is normal to have ups and downs when you give a name to a problem, it helps in identifying with it. However, you will also end up naming the smallest of problems to the condition which ultimately makes you more fearful of the condition. We all have ups and downs.
It's normal to feel down once in a while. But if it continues to a point where you are not able to do your daily activity, then you need to talk to someone. It's not wrong to tell yiyr parents. External help is always necessary in OCD. Take care of it earlier than later.
