Probiotic Treatment in Adult Obsessive Compulsive Disorder

A clinical study underway at the MacAnxiety Research Centre at McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario (Canada), aims to evaluate whether 12 weeks of probiotic treatment can improve clinical symptoms in adults with OCD. The researchers, led by Professor Michael Van Ameringen, hope that a better understanding of the interaction between the brain, gut and microbiota, its role in OCD and the effects of probiotic treatment could identify additional mechanisms involved in OCD and influence the design and development of new treatment strategies.

More information about the study is available in the Participant Information sheet (below).

Canadian nationals interested in participating in the study can request more information via this webpage.
