From winning the battle to dropping the bottle!

Last month we wrote about the amazing Lowri Hadden as she attempted to undertake the gruelling “Tough Mudder”, a 10-12 mile military-style obstacle course which requires strength, endurance and a healthy dose of teamwork. We’re very pleased to report that her mission was a roaring success! Lowri managed to raise a whopping £563 for OCD Action, which will make a huge difference to the lives of people affected by OCD everywhere.

It was no easy ride – Lowri said of her experience “I must admit, the course was pretty intense. Mile 8.5 which is where it hits you big time- everything just aches and you want to cry, but thanks to your support & my team members I made it to the end”. We would like to say a huge well done to Lowri for all of her hard work and support - there is still time to donate to her JustGiving page!

Kicking off October, Sophie Hunt is about to undertake an equally gruelling but very different challenge - she will be attempting to go without alcohol for an entire month! Sophie will be undertaking a “Sober October” to raise funds for OCD Action, a charity that she describes as “very close to home”. Hard as it may be to imagine, this is not actually an impossible task, so let’s all get behind Sophie in this mammoth endeavour. Her target is £50, but we think what she is doing can can raise much more than this, so please support her and donate to her JustGiving page!

If anyone else wants to raise money to support those affected by OCD or to let us know about any fundraising activities you’re already doing, please contact Philip at philip@ocdaction.org.uk or on 020 7253 5272. Even if you don’t feel up to an activity as intense as Tough Mudder (or going sober for a month!) you can do something simple and less taxing. We look forward to hearing from you!
