Last weekend was an excellent one for fundraising, mainly due to the amazing efforts of two of our OCD Action runners!
We told you last week that Annah Salter would be running the Robin Hood Half Marathon on Sunday 25th September in order to raise awareness of OCD, a disorder that her sister lives with.
Well we’d like to give Annah a HUGE well done. Not only did she finish the run in 2 hours 5 minutes, but she raised a brilliant £342.50 (including Gift Aid) in donations towards OCD Action, donations which will go towards people like her sister all over the country.
Show Annah how impressive her achievement is by donating to her JustGiving page!
Here are a couple of pictures Annah took during the event:
This weekend also kicked off Sam Parker’s ambitious “3 10Ks in 3 Weekends” challenge. And we’re pleased to report that, despite an unforeseen obstacle, Sam has got off to an excellent start! When we got in touch with Sam last week we heard that she had come down with a cold. They always happen at the worst time, don’t they? And unfortunately on Saturday 24th September, the day of the run, the blasted cold was still very much present.
But did Sam give up? No! Despite the fact that it actually hurt her head to run, Sam soldiered on and managed to complete the course in 1 hour 20 minutes. Now that’s what we call commitment!
Sam has already raised over £400 including Gift Aid, and still has two more runs to go, including one tomorrow (Saturday 1st October). Let’s hope she’s feeling well by then! Help motivate her to run in the next two events by donating to her JustGiving page.
So a big thank you and congratulations to Annah, and an equally big congratulations and good luck to Sam.
