It’s been a while since we last updated you on the continuing fundraising efforts of the wonderful Rosemont Recruitment, the recruitment company that was generous enough to choose us as their very first Charity of the Year. But that’s not to say that they’ve been resting on their laurels!
The choice was spearheaded by Becky Lewis, PA to the Managing Director. Becky has personal experience of OCD, so she and her colleagues have been pulling out all the stops to raise money and awareness for the life-consuming disorder.
Their first activity was on Saturday 18th June, when a few members of the team (including Becky herself) ran the 5K Rainbow Run in Bristol. The event went really well, and they managed to raise over £200 for OCD Action in the process!
But that was just the beginning.
On Sunday 21st August, they are going to be entering in the Tough Mudder Half South West. Anyone who regularly follows our fundraisers knows what a gruelling, back-breaking, terrifying experience this monster of an obstacle course can be, and we commend the bravery of the Rosemont crew!
Taking part in this event will be:
- Managing Director Craig Davidge, who has this to say about the upcoming challenge:
Very excited by the challenge! I have seen a lot of marketing videos which make it look hard but fun. Very pleased to be doing this challenge with colleagues it adds to the fun and experience as a whole.
- Associate in Consulting Engineering Andrew Cooper, along with his wife Kelly Cooper. Andy says:
I am feeling good about the Tough Mudder Half and am very much looking for to it. I have been out running 3 times a week to prepare, hopefully that’s enough – will find out on the day!
Becky herself can’t take part in this one due to an injury, but she and another team member will be going down to support the fearsome trio.
So thank you Rosemont Recruitment! Thank you for giving us the honour of Charity of the Year, which we promise we will live up to. Thank you for believing in the cause of helping those with OCD. Thank you Becky for all of the arrangements you’ve made to make this a reality, and thank you to Craig, Andy and Kelly for taking on the gargantuan challenge of the Tough Mudder.
Visit their JustGiving page to help them raise money for their amazing efforts. They’ve raised £235.25 including Gift Aid, but with your help they could raise even more!
Would you consider making OCD Action an official charity in your workplace? Or perhaps you’d like to simply put on some unofficial fundraising events and ask your colleagues to join you? Just get in touch with Charlie at firstname.lastname@example.org or call the office on 020 7253 5272 and we’ll be there with you every step of the way.
But for now, we wish everyone at Rosemont Recruitment the best of luck, with the Tough Mudder and any future events they may choose to do!
