What an exciting month it has been for community fundraising events; first Tim's South Downs Marathon, then our fundraiser's climb up Mont Blanc, and to top it off, Alex's and James's 3 peaks challenge, which they completed last week!
Alex and James set out to run up all 3 peaks (Snowden, Scafell Pike and Ben Nevis) but instead of driving between them, cycle themselves - and their equipment - from one peak to another. And that's exactly what they did!
"The consecutive days of cycling 100+ miles was an absolute killer. The fourth day we did 140 miles with around 2500m of elevation, cycling from 8am to 11pm, then had 2 hours sleep and got up at 3.30am to go up and down the final peak, Ben Nevis. Was such a good feeling to get to the top of that one!"
Alex and James managed to raise a huge £1468.01 (inc. Gift Aid) for OCD Action and MIND, which is well over their initial target of £1000. The money raised will make such a difference to both charities, so we would like to say a massive thank you to Alex and James for all of their hard work. You can still donate to support this challenge by visiting their Virgin Money Giving page.
