We’ve had an outpouring of support recently from people eager to sign up to do half-marathons for OCD Action. Recently we’ve had Philippa and Charlie in Kingston and Jodie in Coventry running for us, and they’re only the beginning!
Dean Breed is a member of the Youth Advisory Panel and is in charge of their Training section, so he has already done a huge amount of work towards helping people with OCD. So we’re massively pleased to hear that on top of this he is planning to run the Bath Half Marathon on Sunday 13th March! Known affectionately as the “BATHALF”, the course is 13 miles long and straddles both sides of the River Avon. Having lived with OCD for years before realising what he had, Dean is determined that nobody else delays seeking help and suffers alone. He’s already managed to raise £97 for OCD Action – make sure you visit his Virgin Money page and help him raise even more!
Hot on his heels is John Rowlands, who will be running the Hampton Court Palace Half Marathon a week afterwards on the 20th March. Starting and ending at the famous palace itself, this 13 mile course is something Henry VIII himself would have balked at! John was recently made aware of OCD Action due to a friend, and has decided to run for what he says “seems like a great charity which unfairly gets overlooked”. Not only this, but he's planning to do the whole run wearing a monkey onesie! He’s already raised a mindblowing £326.35 on his JustGiving page, and with your help he can raise even more!
So a huge thank you to Dean and John for embarking on these challenges, and best of luck to the both of you!
