Last Sunday, Bronwen Chatman set out to run the Reading Half Marathon, along with her friend Millie, for OCD Action. But did she succeed?
You bet she did!
Bronwen managed to finish the run in an impressive 2 hours 29 minutes. Considering that beforehand she was nervous about doing the run due to her own OCD making it hard for her to ignore “the cracks, drains and signs” on the run, we think that’s absolutely amazing! Not only that, but she also raised £252 for OCD Action , which is nearly £300 including Gift Aid and almost three times her initial £100 target! Isn’t that worth a huge round of applause?
Here are some pictures of Bronwen at the run, including ones where she holds up her well-deserved medal:
Thanks again Bronwen! You’ve been a great help for people affected by the disorder, and we wish you the best of luck with your own OCD. And for everyone else, remember there’s still time to donate to her JustGiving page to help her raise even more!
Between Bronwen, John, Dean, Jodie, Philippa and Charlie we’ve been going half-marathon crazy this year, and there’s always room for some more! If you’re planning to run one yourself, or have any other ideas for fundraising you’d like to share, just send an email to Phil at firstname.lastname@example.org or call him on 020 7253 5272 and we’ll get the word out for you.
